Terms of service

By creating an account or using the Niaa mobile application or any associated web services ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Niaa is a personal finance management tool. It helps you track income, expenses, loans, and budgets — and optionally parses M-Pesa and bank SMS messages to do so automatically.

Niaa is not a bank, financial institution, or licensed financial adviser. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial advice. All financial decisions are yours alone.

The Service is currently in private beta. Features, pricing, and availability may change without prior notice during this period.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Niaa.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You may use Niaa only for lawful, personal finance management purposes.

You may not: attempt to reverse-engineer or decompile the app; use automated tools to scrape or overload our servers; share your account with others; or use the Service to process or launder funds obtained illegally.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You own your financial data. We process it solely to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

You can export your data to Excel at any time from Settings › Export.

You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings › Account › Delete account.

If you grant Niaa permission to read SMS messages, parsing happens locally on your device. Raw messages are never sent to our servers. Only structured transaction data extracted from messages is uploaded.

You can revoke this permission at any time without losing access to the rest of the Service.

Niaa offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid features are described on the Pricing page.

Subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@niaa.app within 7 days of a charge if you believe you were billed in error.

Pricing is in Kenyan Shillings (KSh) and may be subject to applicable taxes.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure outages, or force majeure events may cause downtime.

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We will not remove features critical to a paid plan without reasonable notice.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that any data displayed is accurate or complete.

Niaa is a tool to help you organise your own financial records. Always verify important figures against your bank or M-Pesa statements.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Niaa FinOps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
